The rates when you ship a car from Hawaii to any mainland port will be the same for all standard size vehicles. Hawaii ports will include Honolulu, Hilo, Nawiwili and Kahului. The rate includes automobiles commonly known as limousines, station wagons, passenger vans, pick-up trucks or commercial trucks. The standard rates will not apply if any vehicle surpasses the dimensions of 21’8″ L x 8′ W x 7′ H , or vehicles with built-in accommodations for cooking or sleeping. When shipping to the mainland there are three ports you can pick up from if land transport is excluded from the shipping order. The ports include Seattle,WA, Oakland,CA and Long Beach,CA but if that is not possible, we can provide nationwide vehicle delivery. We will assist each customer to accommodate transport to any destination city need be. We also provide options of open auto shipping and enclosed auto shipping if shipping a new, classic or luxury vehicle. Mainland transport rates will depend your vehicle’s size and location the delivery will be.
The shipment process transit times can vary depending on the final destination. However, ocean transit from Hawaii to any mainland port will remain anywhere from 6-12 days. As an example, if you are shipping your vehicle from Hawaii to the east coast of the United States the complete process usually takes 20-25 days. Rules and Regulations
When leaving the Islands of Hawaii or Eastbound Shipments Only the following will be required:
- Copy of the title or Ownership Document of the vehicle.
(If the vehicle is still under a Lien you will need what’s called a Lien Holders Authorization Form. It’s basically a permission letter from the bank or dealership letting you ship the vehicle and will be provided by your current title holder.)
- Proof of Valid Registration and Insurance ( If the vehicle is not registered please contact your local Hawaii DMV )
- A picture ID or Identification Card
- A booking reservation number provided by Coastal Auto Shipping
- Automobile must be cleaned inside and out
No personal belongings inside the vehicle. Only items allowed are the documents kept in the glove box and one baby seat.
- The fuel or gas tank must contain 1/4 or less
- Chips or cracks on the windshield have to be repaired
- The emergency brake has to be in proper working order
